Red Baron - Posted by _altr_

Coded by Evan (FrostedMuffins) Greenstone with art/animation by mindchamber, Red Baron has the eye candy were use to from Jose with some great coding mixed in to give bloody fun for the whole family. The enemies were designed for a contest held on the mindchamber forums.

While going through the levels involved a bit of mind numbing button mashing, I found the bosses to be quite a bit more challenging. On defeating the boss you get their weapon, which adds a nice bit of variety going through the game. While defeating enemies you get a chance for coins to get upgrades, if you feel like standing around for several minutes hoping your fingers don’t fall off. Even so, it’s worth going for them.

With survival and capture modes also added (after you unlock them) this game stands up to any Final Fight genre of flash game i’ve played, with some nice extra features to round it out. The only other feature it’s lacking would be a save mode, so you don’t have to replay levels, unless I missed it. Playing at 2am after working then working on a 12 pack might’ve misplaced the save button for me.

Anyways, an easy and purdy game to get into and lose a couple fingers over.

I loved this game! The only flaw I found was that is was a bit of a rip off of Dad N’ Me. There’s no enemy health bar, which isn’t helpful, but you see a friendly little skull on top of dead enimies. All in all, a good game, if you can actually beat the dang thing.
